TEXT: 2nd Cor. 12:9
The simplest thing every living being can do is to dance. It doesn’t matter if you are crippled, blind, dumb etc. You can still move a part of your body in a somewhat rhythmic way, and that is dance.
But as simple as dance is, you cannot do it without the help of God. In order words, you can’t do it without the grace of God.
If God withdraws His help & grace completely, you will find out that you can’t perform even the simplest tasks.
What is the grace of God?
It is the help and ability of God at work in your life. It’s otherwise called unmerited favor.
The reason God meets our needs is based on His grace. That’s why He said we should approach the Throne of grace every time we need help – Heb. 4:16.
Grace moves further than where mercy ends. Mercy says, “you have sinned and I forgive you”, but Grace says, “I won’t just show you mercy, I will also extend favor to you”.
Jesus didn’t just bring mercy, He also brought grace. (2nd tim 2:1)
– Grace means “I don’t deserve this, but I can have it because Jesus has paid for it.”
– Grace eliminates struggle and failure because its no more you at work but God at work.
However, more and more grace can be activated in your life and there are 2 things that activates grace;
(1) Ask: you need to verbalize your need for the help and grace of God in the area you need it. In other words, prayer activates grace.
(2) seeing and admitting your helplessness before God. Every time you feel you can do it on your own, more of God’s grace is withdrawn from you because there will be no need for God to send help.
The most grace goes in the direction of your weakness and inability – 2nd Cor. 12:9. If you want to see God manifest himself like He did to men like Elijah, Moses etc., you must know how to access grace.
In being used by God, you must understand that God is not going to use you because you met all the conditions. He will use you because of his grace – Eccl. 9:11
Stop focusing on what you can’t do and why you are unqualified for God to use. Start focusing on what God can do through you. God doesn’t use great men or qualified men (1st Cor. 1:26 – 31), He uses unqualified men so that the glory will belong to Him alone because it will be obvious to every one that it is not you in manifestation but God at work – 1st Cor. 1:26 – 31.
So you think you can dance? Wrong! God’s grace enables you to dance.
